Hibernating PC Query - Help Please!!

I am remotely connecting to my work PC from home. However, overnight something obviously changed as I was unable to remotely access my work PC this morning. Having driven to work and looked at my PC, the base unit was switched off (even though I had left it on when I left the office previously). The Power Options for System Standby mode is set to 'Never' and there is no indication of there having been a power cut. Has the base unit automatically powered down and 'hibernated' since I last used it yesterday or have I missed something??

Advice is much appreciated!! Thanks
