i have just bought a headset with mic and yet it wont pick up sound, its not a problem with the headset because even if i have no speakers or anything plugged in, but send a live sound to a friend on msn, it will send them the song/whatever i have playing (hope that makes sense) my motherboard has built in 5.1 and so i have 6 sound ports, front spk, side spk, rear spk, bass, mic in and line in. any ideas how i can sort this? im assuming it must be a setting somewhere, because like i said, even with nothing in any of the ports i can still send sounds what would be playing if my speakers were in. thanks.
