What's the cheapest way to get a copy of windows 98SE as I need to have one to install AOL silver braodband (I already have 98SE but no longer have the cd for the number) I have tried ebay but all they seem to have is boot cds and install repairs (don't know what they are).
Cheers

OK, I'm no expert, but windows 98, a format that way preceded broadband - 2 questions (1) why???? and (2) is it likely to be compatible with broadband?
Yes, Windows SE is Broadband compatible, as indeed is Windows 98 FE, and, in most cases (not USB) Windows 95.
98 didn't preceed broadband. broadband (using ethernet) has been around for 20+ years.

astondog: what number do you need? why does AOL need your windows number?

Hi fo3nix, when I put the cd for the broadband in and loaded it it told me to insert my 98SE cd. I borrowed one and it took the key number, unfortunately since then I have been into hospital and have had an amputation of my lower right leg and have been unable to instal my broadband. Now I'm a bit more mobile I need to get my own copy so I can continue.
OK. I think it's strange that AOL want your windows key. I don't understand why they need that sort of information.
