Hi Guys,

My computer has finally had it and so i've decided that I need a laptop, due to lack of space at home. I don't have a great knowledge in PC's etc. So can anyone recommend a cheapish, reliable laptop, that is internet enabled and of a fair speed. Other than that anything else is a bonus. Please help! Thanks in advance

I don't know if you have a Aldi nearby, but when they release laptops, they're excellent. They're called Medion and are way cheaper than Dells etc, but have superb spec. My housemate has one alnd hers has lasted a good 5 years without any problems.
Unfortunately, they aren't on sale all the time, so you have to keep checking what's on sale each week.
Hope that helps a little. (I'm probably going to be ripped to shreds now by the ABers who know the slightest thing about computers for suggesting something from Aldi!)
I recently bought myself a Packard Bell R1910 Laptop from Currys.I paid 499.99 for it.It has 512MB,60GB Hard Drive,Dvd Re Writer & wireless enabled. This is my first Laptop & i just use it just now to connect to the internet.
I like Medion stuff too.If you go to Medionshop.co.uk now in the refurbished section there are a couple of good spec. laptops available at good prices.
We have 3 pc's + 2laptops in the house and the best ones have been bought through that site.

Bieng in the business, I use many different companies for many different things but if I were to buy a laptop...I would buy one from Novatech:

Thanks for your answers. I will look into the places mentioned. What are the chances of getting a reliable new laptop for under 400quid?
If you were going to buy from PC World or Currys at 400 or under you would be looking at their own make of Laptop which is Advent.I don't know what their own make of Laptop is like.
