i pod question

ok i have a PC not an Apple not that i would think it would make much difference with this but im pretty upset about my buy right now, i just got an ipod and have 10,000 songs that i am trying to put into my ipod, and i cant get the software to work, it loads up and everything but it just comes up with an error, (IS THERE ANY WAY I CAN TRANSFER SONGS ONTO THE IPOD WITHOUT USING ITUNES ?) thank you
