I've just downloaded the newest ipod updater and now it's freezing everytime I try to initialize my ipod in the program.

I'm now on my 3rd ipod mini due to the stupid machine malfunctioning and am frankly getting really pee'd off with them.

Why won't it update..? My ipod is now out of it's warranty and my last 2 ipods messed up when trying to update them.

PLEASE HELP...!!! xx

Why are you trying to update it?

To put the 'latest software' onto it, you have to do it every so often, just like you need to update itunes... but I did it with my last 2 ipods and they messed up. I've done it now, had to restore it back to it's factory settings and put 1000 songs back on it... woohoo! well I guess it beats breaking it again! x
No, you don't. There is no need at all to update the software on the iPod unless you are having problems with it. If it isn't broken, then don't fix it, as they say.
