When I eventually got through to BT technical support, they told me that I didn't have an account with them! So I asked them who is taking the 26 quid a month from my bank account then?

These type of scams are going on now a days. They use to charge some 100 to 300 bugs by showing some fake files that doesn't exist in system. But there are some customer support centers providing genuine services like go4customer, I have a good experience with them.
