Why when i get an email from my neice with pictures for me to download, why is there a small square in the corner with 3 different colours, and why cant i download them??

I assume you are using outlook express. Open it, on the toolbar select tools, scroll down to options, open that, select security, and then see if you have a tick in the download images bit. If you do, take it out (click) and hopefully it should be OK.
