Playing online videos problems.

Hi can any one tell me why my laptop cannot play online videos properly, it always seems to buffer then play a few seconds, then play a bit more, i have a home network which i connect to the internet with, do i need RAM, Bigger harddrive, faster connection,ect, to solve this problem.

Sorry to ask the obvious, but you are using a broadband connection aren't you? If so, what speed service are you being provided with by your ISP?

We need to be clear about this before going any further.
It might also be that the server that is providing the video is not up to the traffic it is getting. If possible, try to download the video and view it locally.
You haven't said if you have wireless broadband? I have a laptop and watching online vids was fine until I went to wireless. Now I have to choose a 225K setting rather than the 512k setting even though my band is 2mb, but the wireless cant receive it properly.
let it play like this all the way through then hit play again - it should play right the second time
