An ISP issue? Usually on their website they'll have a status page saying if there are any issues in your area that could be affecting your connection.

thanks for replying I have checked and says there are no affecting issues . it has been like this since last monday then was ok wednesday then thursday back to this.
Do you connect straight through a modem, or via a router or something?

If you use a router, and if it's at all possible (like if you have a laptop or something), then directly connecting to the internet to see if it is the router at fault.

OK, what virus software do you have? Update it and do a full system scan. Then do the same with any spyware software you have.

Examples of free software to do this are AVG free and Adaware Personal

I have tesco internet security.
OK. well either run that and see if it picks anything up, or (recommended) download and install the above and see if those do.

I have already done that this is how I found the virus and it says I need to use the disinfecant wizard which should be showing but it's not showing up. If I could find this I could follow it through. Sorry for being so thick.

You're not thick at all. I put it down to bad software; never used Tesco software, but I can't imagine it's great if its users (i.e. you) can't figure it out.

My advice would be to try and download AVG Free, Adaware personal spyware protection and either zonealarm or kerio personal firewall (all the above are free), probably from someone else's computer given the problems you're having, and install and do a full scan with them on your computer. AVG Free will neutralise the virus for you without any messing about at all.
