We had an OKI printer for 5 years and it was brilliant. Just replaced it with another OKI and the quality is fantastic.

It is worth finding out the cost of all the consumerables (Toner, drums, belts etc) when comparing models. The cheapest machines to buy may end up costing you a lot more over 3 or 4 years.

HP do a nice one for around 179 +VAT

Model number is 2600n

Cartridges are around 35 each (Black, and three colours magenta, cyan and yellow)

Thanks very much for replies.

Just got a Konica-Minolta 2400W (should have been a new Samsung, but not available yet). The quality is very good - even for photographs (often a problem with colour laers), unfortunately it is VERY noisy/clunky (never heard anything like it!). I've also had paper jams on 'ordinary' paper (unusual) but not on slightly thicker stock.

Caveat Emptor!!

I have an Epson Aculaser C1100 bought last autumn, do not
use solel y as have Stylus Photo RX600 which I use for pictures including borderless which the laser doesn't do. I print a calendar from my husbands artistic efforts and it gives excellent results

Is the Epson Aculaser expensive?
