This is purely a personal view, and I havent done a massive amount of comparison shopping. If you use your phone frequently for either voice calls or texting etc, then I think PAYG are way more expensive than a contract, especially if you have your own handset and just want a simcard deal.

If on the other hand you only use your mobile infrequently, or for other people to contact you, then PAYG represent the best value for money.

Until very recently, I was on an excellent tariff from that was a simcard only deal ( I had my own phone) and was costing me just 5 per month with a tariff rate of 8ppm to both national and mobiles, and 7ppt. I have only changed from it because I wanted a BlackBerry! :)

thanks, Lazygun. Who was that with? Did you get any inclusive texts?
Hi Begram,

It was with a company called Utilities Warehouse (previously Telecomplus). SIM only tariff. No inclusive texts.... they cost 7 pence per text if I remember correctly.

you can try here to see their products/services.
