This is between 2 Samsung tablets, which I understand to be very straightforward. I obviously want to delete unnecessary bits...such as the massive numbers of emails I've never deleted. But there are those from several senders I want to keep. This is for Hotmail and Yahoo. Any tips?

Are you sure the emails are on your tablet and not in the cloud?

I would delete the unwanted emails by putting the names of the sender's I didn't want to keep in to the search box and deleting them in bulk.

The problem is that while I can get all the particular emails up...but I can't delete them in one go. I have to click on each one individually and delete, or put into a folder...that's why I've ended up wiyh so many. It's doing my head in.

I don't use either but is there no facility to Selevt 'all' when you have completed the search?

In GMail it is a small box in the top left, immediately above the emails

Or, click the first email, press and hold the Shift key, click the last email, and then press the Delete key.

If you're using Android, you can get Smart Switch from Play Store. Simply install a copy to both tablets, run the programs, setting one to transmit, and the other to receive, select what you want to transfer, and away you go. You can use WiFi or a cable connection between the two devices for the transfer.

I eventually found some instructions for Hotmail/ Outlook...unfortunately all said each email needed to be ticked. Yahoo was easier, can do whole blocks of older emails.

Blubster...yes I know about smartswitch. I've downloaded it, new tablet is charging first as I type.

Surprised. I'd have thought you could list them in date/time order and then use the mouse and eother shift, control, alt, or other key to highlight blocks. But I assume you've tried all combinations of that.
