I replaced my 7 year old OnePlus 3T a while back and intended to deposit in a recycling box in town.  Wife suggested I sell it, I laughed (it's not an iPhone or a Samsung) but tried one of the buy/sell/exchange shops.

Offered £38 cash or £48 in instore credit voucher.  Cash please.  It has arrived in my bank account this morning.  Not a fortune, but more then I expected.

Just to say before ditching your old tech, see if it's worth anything.

I sent my old LG Nexus 5X for recycling. Looking on ebay there are lots listed at the £30/£40 level but most don't sell.

PS. sometimes ebay listings quote ludicrous prices - one of the above is listed for £1,999.00 - WHY?

I think it's a holding slot - later they will change the listing entirely.  There must be some advantage to it - free listing day, perhaps?

If your Nexus was in 'working order', not 'good' or 'mint', the 16GB version would have been bought for £22 at the place I sold my phone.  £36 if 'mint'.

ive been trying to buy an older style kindle on ebay recently, and they are going for ~£60.  That's not far off a brand new one

I think it's to hold its place in a search where the seller is temporarily out of stock. The seller inflates the price so that it won't be bought but it will keep its place in a search.

When the item/s becomes available, the seller lowers the price back to the original.

I remember reading that on an eBay forum.

Most of my old tech is steam-powered 😄
