Panasonic Kx-Tg6521E Needs Another Handset

We have a Panasonic KX-TG6521E with a base unit and one handset.  Recently, OpenReach had to move the phone to a very inconvenient location in the house, so we'd like another handset.  However, there's no way of running wires from the base unit to the location we need to have the second handset.

My questions are:

1)  Is it possible to get a handset that will work with our current base unit?

2) Does a handset need a dock?

3) If the answer to question 2 is yes, does the dock need a wire from the base unit?

Thanks for any help.

The dock is simply a charging device, with the signals being carried wirelessly.  So I can think of no reason why there would need to be a wire from the base unit to any other dock.

To get another handset to work with your current base unit, you'd need to consult the manual to see if there's a way to get them to work on the same channel.  (There are 120 different channels within the frequency range used by such phones).

A simpler solution might be to fork out £8 (+£2.95 postage) to this eBay seller (with 100% positive feedback) to get a new base unit, together with three additional handsets and the cradles for them too:

^Sorry Chris...but if you look at the listing closely, you are not getting all that for £8! (The cradle and each handset are being sold separately).

^^^ Blast!  I thought that was too good to be true.

However my idea of getting a replacement base unit, together with an additional handset that's pre-matched to it, still stands.

Possibly alternatively though, why not simply move the existing base unit, back to where it was before, by using a cheap telephone extension cable?

Until you get a 2nd handset, just take the existing one to your location and remember to return it to the base station occasionally to charge it.

Have a look on ebay for additional handsets and charger.  Or try Panasonic direct.

Once you get it, you need to pair it with your base unit.

Some achargers have a different rated adapter than the base unit charger, so make sure you get the right pne.

Thanks for your help - as always!

The extension cable would be ideal, but it would need to go round a fire place and in and out of two alcoves - not easy to do in a stylish sort of way - but I'm happy that handsets might be available and pairable.

To expand the Panasonic KX-TG6521E phone system with an additional handset, ensure compatibility by selecting a handset model that is explicitly designed for use with the KX-TG6521E base unit. Once obtained, follow the manufacturer's instructions for pairing the new handset with the existing base unit. This typically involves registering the new handset by navigating through the menu settings on both devices. Once successfully registered, the additional handset will seamlessly integrate into the Panasonic phone system, providing extended functionality.

This is helpful.  Have you any idea which handsets would be compatible with KX-TG6521E or how to find out?
