Yeah it looks like someone will be coining it in
It might be a good investment, jno,if the price of gold goes up.Otherwise only worth investing in if you have 77 grand burning a hole in your back pocket.(I would make up a joke about Peter Murrell here, but i wont).
you can get a half sovereign for rather less than the price of a full one

and you won't be competing against Brexiters, who would never settle for half-sovereignty.
a kilo wouldn't fit in my back pocket, ynnaf, I'd have to buy a whole new handbag.

So, what percentage of that coin has got pure gold in it ,if any ?
Perhaps you can ask Peter Murrell for advice, jno.
At that price i would be looking at about 150%,Bazile.
Well according to Diane Abbott, that is.

Ask a serious question ...
Which coin is it?
Question Author
The one in jno's link
That doesn't appear to show only 5,999 being available.
Question Author
Sorry I thought you were asking about my question about the gold content in jno's link .

The 5999 refers to an ad regularly appearing on the TV .
Can't recall the name of the company

The Coronation Cupro-nickel £5 coin with an unlimited mintage costing £14.50 is all i need.
If you collect these type of things William,go for it.As an investment type of thing ,dont bother.
The big one would cause a large lump in your mattress. Coincidentally, my wife calls me something similar.
Yes, i buy commemoration coins and they are just for the fun of collecting.
