Good old Rod. He's still got what it takes. Love him.
Aaagh!

I've just checked it out on YouTube.

My verdicts is "painful"!

Well I disagree with those reports. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Leave it to the master!

I didn't like it either, I also wondered why he sang someone else's song when he has so many great ones of his own

The reports suggest that he was forced to sing Sweet Caroline by the BBC.
Sweet Caroline was chosen especially so the crowd could join in. Rod did well. I prefer Neil's version, but in this case it met the requirements. A well loved British entertainer leading the audience and it worked.

I would like to see Sam Ryder fronting Queen!

History suggests that a man with nothing to prove should tell the Beeb to bolt.
6-10.
If the Rodmeister couldn’t perform Sailing, Baby Jane or Maggie May for a singalong then it’s a pretty poor show in my opinion.
perhaps it was just me but i thought it was awful.
Put him back in his crypt.
Poor Mr Diamond must be cringing in agony.
indeed 1ozzy.
I think it’s time he gave up ‘singing’.
whilst his vocal contribution was less than great ..this was more than compensated by the fun and joy he brought to the proceedings...
you got to admit his vocal prowess has waned, he isn't the singer he once was and it shows.
It's not that how he sang it, the problem is it is such an awful song.
Sweet Caroline was voted as the 'Song of the Jubilee' , that's why he was asked to sing it
No one asked me.
Must admit I didn't like Rod's version of Sweet Caroline, his voice isn't right for this song and it has lost some of the power. I also didn't like Celeste's version of What a Wonderful World. Why do they have to spoil a classic.
