Hi im having problems with my xbox 360 HD settings, i have a 1028i ready tv but my xbox will only work in 480p. Can anyone help?

You DID set the Xbox to HDTV out didn't you?
On the cable goes into the back of the Xbox itself from the TV, there should be a switch that has Standard/HDTV settings.
It's on the cable itself, on the Xbox 360 end.

yes if switched it to HD it works fine on 480p but when i try 1080i in the dashboard it says component not available.

isnt it something to do with component video inputs ?(i read a review earlier on a similar them so thought id mention it!)
