when i was on msn messaging with a contact he tried to send a message to my files.A message came up on my screen from msn i should imagine and it said this message was not accepted as potential dangerous(or something like that) What would that mean as I am considering deleting him from my contact list .It is a new contact and seemed genuinly ok thanks

It could be that your anti-virus or firewall are set too strongly so as to block any incoming files from msn.Can you receive files from other contacts? if so it maybe that the content of the file he is trying to send is suspect

However if you cannot receive files from anybody even trusted contacts then i would look at easing up on your security settings

Yes I would say it is far more likely to be your security settings than msn deciding that the file was 'dangerous' - you could ask him to send it another way perhaps.
