I've been looking at my phone bill and see several 0330 outgoing calls over the last month or so.

I have not made these calls. Has anyone else had this problem?

I'm with TalkTalk and thought I'd ask here before trying to get hold of them.

None for us and we're with TalkTalk. You haven't been pressing "1" in response to a scam call. have you?

No. Never answer scam calls.
Will have to try to get in touch with TalkTalk.
These 'calls' are all between 50 and 90p each which mounts up over a month. Will closely monitor daily for a couple of days.
Are they all to the same number or different numbers?
0330 numbers are often used by customer services of large organisations. You haven't been ringing some customer services and have forgotten? (It can happen!).
Have you considered changing to a call plan that includes all calls (landline and mobiles) at no extra cost...then you don't have to worry about costs of individual calls.
Post one of the numbers here and we can try to look it up.
If you are being charged for calls you haven't made you really do need to contact TalkTalk.

The government uses 0330 numbers for its benefits and pensions lines.
Been ringing re UC? Or HMRC? Or your bank?
as fiction-factory says post us a couple of numbers so we can help you

Sorry for delay. Had a phone call! A friend and I talk daily as both live alone.
No, I have definitely not been making these calls. My phone has a caller display in and out over a few days and they have not shown there.
03301235390 twice 03001234212 03300582025
bit of a mystery if you haven't been dialling the numbers but talktalk has an option to block numbers

6 Feb 2020 - Customer Enquiries: 0330 058 2025 (Open 8:30am - 8:00pm Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm on Saturday and 10:00am - 5:00pm Sunday).
the last one is for holland and barrett at 7p per min
the second one cornwall council
cant trace the other one
>>> These 'calls' are all between 50 and 90p each which mounts up over a month

They must be ruddy long calls then (unless you're on a ridiculously expensive phone tariff with TalkTalk). Ofcom rules state that all phone service providers (both landline and mobile) must charge calls to '03' numbers at exactly the same rate as they do for calls to '01' and '02' numbers. For many (possibly most) people, who've got packages where they get free calls to 'geographic' (01 or 02) numbers, that means that 03 calls are free of charge.

None of the numbers you've given are 'premium rate', so they're not linked to scamming. The second one is for Cornwall Council
https://www.cornwall.gov.uk/environment-and-planning/environmental-health/enforcement-responsibilities/
and the third one is for Holland and Barrett

Thank you.
Lankeela, I see from your link that others are being charged for this number and not calling it. Checking back it's only happened in the last month.
I forgot CC and H&B (it was a month ago!) Sorry!
It still leaves 03301235390 which was only 20th May.
Looks like I'm not the only one by the link.
Thanks, everyone, will monitor this for a few days. Not quite got lockdown fever yet!

They all say "Services G21 rate" on the bill.
Only about 3 minute calls.
That last one appears to be a fax number - that's the sort of noise I got when I dialled it
You need to challenge TalkTalk about why you seem to be getting charged excessively for calls to 03 numbers.

As I stated above, a 3-minute call to Holland & Barrett, or to Cornwall Council, (using their 03 numbers) MUST be charged at exactly the same rate as a 3-minute call to your aunty in London (on an 02 number) or to your cousin in Sheffield (on an 01 number). TalkTalk have no discretion in the matter; it's an Ofcom rule, which forms part of TalkTalk's licence to operate their services:
https://www.ofcom.org.uk/phones-telecoms-and-internet/advice-for-consumers/advice/what-are-03-numbers
That last number of yours called me back. My phone was switched off so a very nice sounding lady left a voicemail. It is Lifeline Services - I have never heard of them but Google tells me it is a personal alarm service for the elderly

Thanks, barry. That's the Cornwall council one. It's the first number that is now the problem through lankeela's link. Have phoned it on my mobile and just get horrid clicking noises and bleeps.
When TalkTalk has online chat again I will get in touch.
My contract is up for renewal in November so will have to have a think about TalkTalk then.
