You may have a lot of junk files, which can be cleared by clearing your cache.

That and delete all your porn. ;-)

It would depend on whether you e-mail client downloads them to your phone. From earlier posts I had the impression it did. In which case attachments would be a pain. But yes, anything you can back up off the phone then delete, helps.
