Virgin informed me that my bill would be increasing by £4 a month. I phoned them up and told them I'm not paying it. Big sigh from call handler, 'Fine, we'll give you a £4 a month discount for 6 months'.

Just received the confirmation email - I'll be paying £4 a month less than what I'm paying now for 6 months, then it will increase by £4.

Phone call lasted all of 2 minutes. If you've had your notice of price increase, give them a call.

But.... it's still going up!

No it isn't. My bill has gone down £4 for 6 months, then will increase by £4 to what I've been paying the last 12 months. :)
Ahhh. That's better.

I think we go through this fiasco every 12 months to lock us in to another year's contract.
I know. I was with BT and they've recently raised prices and no sympathy or discounts, so now with Talk Talk.
Are you sure it's not a £4 discount on the higher rate?
