I have a JPEG2 video movie clip file on my computer and wish to burn it onto a DVD-R disc so that I can view it on my TV via my DVD player.

Can anyone please explain in simple layman's terms how I can achieve this?

It depends on your dvd player whether it will play the file as-is or whether you actually need to make it into a proper dvd.

If you put the model of dvd player on AB we can look up the manual and let you kow if its just a case of put the file on a cd or how to make a dvd.

I can put the files on a DVD but I want to put the video on the disk so that I can simply put the disk into my player and play the video.

My computer blocks me from downloading that programme.

What are DVD5 or DVD9 discs I am using DVD-R?
i found the manual for RDR-HXD870

I can't see any mention of Mpeg files - but you could try just putting the file onto a cd.

Which operating system have you got?

Dvd disks come in 2 formats - normal 4.7gb and dual layer which are 8gb.
anotheoldgit, try opening in another browser firefox or chrome, it could also be your antivirus preventing download, you could temporarily halt it to allow download, but that program works for what you want.
dvdr means its write once, dvdrw you can erase and and re-use and some disks work better than others in different drives, i always use name brands verbatim is one i like.
