Good .
Yes it's always gone on and will still be going on, not just in Rochdale and not just involving Asian men, although it does seem to be more prevalent in certain communities, but it's good that charges are being made here. Let's hope that any previous reluctance to investigate and charge in such cases will not occur again
Be nice if they could catch every single sex offender country wide, everyone they do get is a step forward.
It won't stop until the death of mankind. It's always gone on but the big positive difference now is that these girls and boys are believed and the monsters prosecuted.

Here's another one that wasn't believed until recently

Is it a recent case or is it historical?

Don't be so timid of course it matters whether or not he is Asian.

Taking into account the past vast number of such child abuse cases attributed to Asian males and because it proves that there is still an ongoing problem, that needs to be addressed and not covered up in case it may cause offence.
Matters not to me, every single abuser of our children is as vile as the next.
Don't be ridiculous, AOG. I and many others were well aware of this grooming and sexual abuse of (mainly) disadvantaged youngsters in the 70s, 80s, and every decade since.
I have no reason to think it did not go on before then. I have spent my life working with young people and adult survivors of sexual abuse and rape.
It wasn't predatory Asian gangs in the 70s and 80s - it was mainly white, British men and other groups including West Indians.

There WAS blatant discrimination - these girls were discriminated against when they reported the abuse because all those in authority believed they complicit and 'asking for it' especially as the majority were in care homes or frequent absconders from troubled family homes and viewed as troublesome at best or delinquent slags.

And so say all of us.

But if one specific group are more prevalent than others, then surly it makes sense to target that group with some urgency.

Just like terrorism, no good wasting time rooting out those who do not belong to a certain group who carry out their attacks under the name of their particular religion.

All abuse is of course abhorrent, but it is important to recognise that such abuse is prevalent within the Muslim community – and that does matter. Denying it won't stop it.
You might add that 'those in authority' along with their political masters had a vested interest in not rocking the boat with core voters with a view to holding on to their town hall power, hc4361.
By all means recognise it, then catch as many as you can can whoever they are.
Y'know, sometimes I just want to scream, I'm not sure my health is up to it though.

Don't you dare call me ridiculous, we are not addressing problems that may have happened way back in 70s, 80s.

We are now in the 21st century and the present problem includes mainly Asian men.

But if you wish to discuss child abuse over the centuries then please feel free to start up a thread on that subject.

After all there were some very bad cases back in Victorian times and most likely not one Asian involved.

Today's abusers are NOT mainly Asian men - they are the ones making the headlines but men of all colours and creeds are still abusing.
It is blinkered and dangerous to focus on one group
I dont think any group/culture or whatever you want to call it is more prevalent than any other.

Because of the actions of the PC Brigade in stifling any investigations into Muslims it allowed it to proliferate easily. This has led to some high profile cases that make it seem they are worse than other groups.

Providing the liberal elite are kept out of it and the Police treat and prosecute all groups with the same vigour regardless of race, colour or religion then this perception of Muslims being the most prevalent group will fade away.
hc4361, //It is blinkered and dangerous to focus on one group //

I don't see anyone focussing on one group, but it's blinkered and dangerous to deny the reality of what is happening within the Muslim community.

Really???? since you like going back in time, this from May 2013, and from the Guardian no less.

AOG, read my post above for the reason of this perception.
This should not be the battle of who are the most prolific abusers - it is paramount all or as many as possible are stopped in their tracks.

To sideline the discussion with such stuff and the constant bleating of 'I blame the liberal elite' is doing nothing to help our children and young people at risk.
