Sent Email Doesn't Swoosh Anymore

I've Googled this and done what they said about turning off the do not disturb but it didn't fix it? Any help is welcome but in granny language please.

Presume you're talking about an ipad? Is the volume muted? Have you got 'airplane' mode switched on?

I've checked and read everything with no luck. The keyboard clicking is also silent. What have I done? Yes it's an iPad Air2

PROBLEM SOLVED. I had inadvertently tapped on the mute icon on the pop up at the bottom of my iPad. Everything is fine now. Thank you for your time and help.
