I bought mine last March, and it's been giving me sooo many problems recently!


First problem...it always freezes! And I can't turn it off by using the on/off slide switch, so I have to take the cover off and take the battery out in order to get it to turn on and work properly again, though I'm sure this isn't doing it any good.


Second problem...when I take the battery out in order for it to work properly, it turns itself on, and says 'Re-building Library' and it has a progress bar along the bottom to show how complete the 're-building' is, but recently it would stop after only a small amount had been filled, and then it would just stop. After a while it would say that it has a Firmware problem, which means absolutely nothing to me!


Third problem...Instead of holding the normal amount of 1000-ish songs, it'll now hold only 76 of my songs at the max, and it's ever since these Firmware problems have been occuring!


If anyone else knows what's going on, or if anyone else is experiencing the same problems as me, then please help!!

The software controlling the Zen Micro is referred to as Firmware, and be updated by downloading the latest version from Creative's site. This can be installed via USB.

Latest: Version 2.00.12 (as of Feb 2005)
To check your version of software, from the main menu, scroll to System > Information.
Latest versions of software and firmware can be downloaded from the Creative Support site. Drivers can also be found on the Creative Nomadworld site.

Some time ago I had a minor problem with mine, received as a Xmas gift from a boyfriend no longer on the scene (ie. I didn't even have a receipt).  I emailed Creative and after a couple of fix-it suggestions was no further forward, so they sent me another!  They were just SO good, you wouldn't believe. They let me choose another colour, sent me an e-label for the returns parcel and didn't even wait to receive the "dud" before the replacement was set in motion.  I couldn't fault their customer service.  GET IN TOUCH ASAP!
