Microsoft has just tried to reinstall the update that allows them to force installation of W10. I have just uninstalled it and then 'hidden' it again! 3rd time now! Beware !

Back in mid-March I accidently left my Lappy in sleep mode rather than turning it off when I went to bed.
When I got up I was the proud owner of Windows 10. First instinct was to get rid, then I thought I'd have a look at it for a couple of days, now I have no problem with it, bit of tweaking here and there and we get along quite nicely.
It's a load of shoe repairers imo, if it was the best thing since sliced bread why are they being sneaky about it.
Have no idea whether it's a good or bad thing (some people on here who have installed it are not happy!) What is nasty is that it is being re-installed when obviously is not wanted! If YOU make a choice re your laptop, and that choice is overtaken! The bigger boss has control!
Unsurprised. It's the way things are going. Buy PC software and the company wants to control your computer. Got something similar with a game I bought. It refuses to run without a second executable running and one of the things it controls is refusing to let the game run if there's a new patch uninstalled. Clearly communicating with the company and passing details. So hardly surprising MS wants a piece of that "monitor/control the customers' PC" action. And the world sees nothing wrong with that and lets them do it.
Have you thought of buying a mac?
Not raining here.
Mmm. Ha ha.

Can't afford a Mac did borrow one once but I prefer a windows computer.
I am just annoyed about how they keep trying to force W10 on us. I probably will get it but ONLY when I decide to have it.
It strikes me that there must be some reason that Microsoft are so desperate for everyone to have W10, and that reason will be to their benefit rather than to us users.
By the way this laptop computer, that is working perfectly well, cost me 50p plus an old mobile phone, anyone beat that?
I had windows windows 7 Pro. on mine, after days of trying to to upgrade to Windows 10 I finally succeeded but it will not let me activate it, so I am stuck with a little sign in the bottom right hand corner asking me to activate windows 10. When I try to activate it, it just says the service is not currently available. Its been doing this for about 12 months now.
Ratter have you tried to recover it - go to settings/update&security/recovery
I am still avoiding the installation of Windows 10. However, if you are having an activation problem with Windows 10 and are anxious to use W10, Microsoft advises the following :-
