We really need to know what you intend using the Chromebook for.

It has no real hard drive capacity so everything is stored online (in the cloud) so if you want to use where you have internet access it will be hopeless.

I want to use it for browsing and streeming so storage isn't so important. Things that I currently do on my smartphone's very small screen. I hope this helps.
Just remember that your phone can connect to the internet where there is no wifi (3G/4G) but a Chromebook can't, unless you tether it to your phone, otherwise it will be fine for your needs.

Consider a tablet.
If you have wifi The Which? Best Buy last year was the Acer Chromebook C720

PROS With a light and portable design, the 11.6-inch C720 offers great value for money.

Battery life is excellent –around eight hours when browsing the web.

CONS The screen is a little dull and sound quality from the speakers is only average.

WHICH? VERDICT The C720 combines solid performance and excellent battery life in an easy-to-use, portable package.

Since this test there's been several more expensive versions of this basic operating system.
I purchased a Toshiba Chromebook earlier this year and am very pleased with it.
It starts up very quickly and battery lasts well.
I use it for browsing mainly.
eEbay, Amazon, a few other sites.
I do not use it for games or watching films etc.
Just fairly simple things.
Why get a computer that hasn't got any storage ? Why not get a modern laptop/notebook ...it will do anything you want it to do, instead of just a few things.

As hc has said....in order to retrieve anything, you will need to have access to the 'net. What about when you can't get access to the 'net ?

I simply don't understand why "cloud storage" is so popular these days......what is wrong with a hard disc ! You don't need access to the 'net to view a few photos !

There are lots of smaller notebooks available. I have an ASUS one, that I use in the caravan, where space is at a premium and it works marvelously.

Its similar to this one :::
