Whatsapp Update

have used this for a couple of months with no ems but today it says this version is now out of date from 10th October 2015 so tried to update (also tried google playstore) and its saying unable to download due to error 194, haven't got a clue how to update so deleted WhatsApp hoping that if I reinstalled it then it would automatically give ted version but it didn't so now don't have WhatsApp, help please I have a galaxy mini s3

This error appears to be connected to corrupt data in the Play Store app itself.
