I want to change the default in spreadsheets. When you go into format cells/borders, I want to change the default of the line thickness to point o five pt.

This link refers to changing the default font, rather than line thickness, but the method should still be valid. (i.e. create a new template, with your preferred options, and then set that template as the default):

OK thanks, I haven't time now, but I'll look at it tomorrow.
On my version you go to format > borders > width

I've done what you suggested, and it worked inasmuch as to get the default created I have to click; styles and formatting then right click the top item (heading), then click modify. I'm wondering if I can save it separately and click onto it if I need it, but I'm stuck for time. Will persist. Thanks.
