System Restore

PLEASE DISREGARD MY LAST MESSAGE TIMED AT 1209. However, I would be grateful if someone can tell me how to repair my System Restore without incurring a £45 diagnostic fee!

Why do you need to restore your system ?

What is it failing to do, what are the symptoms when you try ?

Two questions for you:
1. Which version of Windows has that laptop got on it? (You had two laptops a year ago; one with XP and one with 7).
2. Have you got the Windows CD (or possibly a manufacturer's recovery CD) that came with it? (I'm thinking that you might need to run a 'repair' option).

I have Windows 7 and IE11. My laptop is very very slow. I have spent lots of money on Speed up PC programs from various sources but gone back to AVG Internet Security and Malwareebytes.
