Twice this morning my very slow screen has gone black and the message "display driver not responding" has flashed up on screen.

Is this major surgery??...........Do I consider a new laptop?

Advice greatly received.......in simple English please

First option:
Turn it off and turn it on again! (It's amazing how often that works!)

If that doesn't help you'll need to download and reinstall the driver. It's not a difficult task but I can't give you instructions without the exact make and model of the laptop. So over to you!

Thank-you, I´ve tried the off/on test..........it works for a while & I get the message again.
It is an Acer Aspire 57362 series model PEW 72 but I must add this laptop was purchased in Spain and has a Spanish keyboard and I am not at all technical but would be happy to try and download.
Download this file to the laptop:
http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/Driver/VGA/VGA_Intel_8.15.10.1892_W7x86_A.zip?acerid=634193617636552918&Step1=NOTEBOOK&Step2=ASPIRE&Step3=ASPIRE%205736Z&OS=ALL&LC=en&BC=ACER&SC=EMEA_27
Double click to extract the zip file. That might also run the driver installation file but, if all you see is a folder containing another file, double-click on that as well. That should reinstall the display driver. Restart your laptop and cross your fingers!
