Has My Ipad Died?

F to settings and it says its getting sotoor weeks now I have had trouble with my ipad. it goes off line. i go to settings. it says my router is getting automatic updates. this happens all the time. i have rebooted the router to no avail. OH can access internet, likewise I can using my laptop.
now my my ipad is permanently not on the internet. even though it is plugged in it is not recharging. What if anything can I do?

my ipad keeps freezing and going off line.
When you say it isn't recharging, is it dead or just says ' not recharging' when plugged into the computer, if the latter then the USB port on the computer may not be kicking out enough power, use the mains charger. If it was completely flat then you'll need to leave it at least an hour to get any kind of charge, then...Have you closed all running apps on the ipad? Double click the home button and then swipe upward on all of the apps to close (that assumes you're on a reasonably modern version of IOS). Then reboot the iPad by pressing and holding the home button and the power button at the same time for 10 seconds, the Apple log should then appear and it will reboot. You won't lose any data, then try to connect aqain.
Have you done a reboot by holding the home button and the off switch for 10 seconds.

Turning it off and on again solves most tech problems.
Are you using a proper Apple charging lead. The cheap ones don't work well.

Sorry just got back in. Im using a proper apple charger. the ipad is on with all apps showing on desk top. when i click on any of them it says unable to connect to internet. I havent got the ipad with me at the moment. i have just taken it to grandson for him to have a look. Thanks for your comments. If GS cannot fix it I will have a try at doing what you suggested.
I had the Internet problem after I did an update ended up having to reset it. That is in settings-Reset-Reset All Settings. Does not wipe anything except passwords.
