Device Provisioner Malware

I keep getting a message on my Nexus 7 saying that AVG has detected an app that is unsafe - Device Provisioner classified as Malware. I've tried removing the threat but Device Provisioner is apparently a pre-installed app and cannot be removed.

I've googled it and on several forums it states that this threat is a false positive and linked to the Lollipop update.

Can anyone help me with this please. Thanks

Device provisioner is not a pre-installed app, it's a system file: ie, part of the Android OS, so this is almost certainly a false positive.
If updating AVG doesn't help, you might want to try a different AV app.
CM Security is free, and generally more highly rated than AVG.
You can get it from the play store:

Great, thanks Chris and The Chair. Will have a look at those tonight and hopefully get rid of the problem.
