I am seriously thinking of changing from my present IP to PLUSNET. Can anyone who has first-hand knowledge of this provider please give me some advice? Thank you

I have phone and broadband from John Lewis...the service is actually provided by Plusnet....and I never have any problems. Both get the thumbs-up from Which?, too.
I have heard that Plusnet is very, very good, but expensive.

Out of curiousity, who are you with at present and why do you want to change ?
mikey...wrong. Plusnet are not expensive at all.
I stand corrected then, but it what everybody says about them I am with BT and I think I am paying less than Plusnet, but I could be wrong, of course.
Well I looked at changing to Plusnet from TalkTalk and it was going to cost me £100 a year more.
but talk talk have a bad reputation
It would be unusual, Mikey, if you were paying less with BT than with Plusnet because Plusnet is the budget arm of (and is wholly owned by) BT.

I've read loads of articles and reviews about ISPs, both online and in computer magazines and, if I was ever to consider switching to a 'budget' ISP, Plusnet would definitely be the one I'd go for. (My current ISP, Claranet, mainly provides services to businesses - including major companies such as BAe Systems - and charges 'business' prices. However that means that their phones are always answered on the first ring, any rare outage of service is normally fixed within minutes, rather than days, and I get twice the download speed of other properties on my street, with no lowering of speed at peak times).
>>>but talk talk have a bad reputation

Incorrect. TalkTalk's reputation isn't 'bad'. It's 'appalling'!
I use Plusnet the 76Mb service and its superb, does what it says on the tin, and the upload which I need is around 19Mb

I did a deal when I called , always worth haggling, they can only say no !
I'm with Talktalk, and have been for years.

I have no complaints.
^^^exception that proves the rule, in that case!
