What are the latest opinions regarding which is best {for overnight} :- sleep/hibernate/hybrid sleep/shut down.?. I have a Dell tower with windows 7. Opinions out there please

PS--I get different stories as to whether just moving the mouse is enough after sleep or any key--which is correct?

personally, shut down, otherwise hibernate not sleep if your leaving it for hours
