Blurs On The Pc Screen

Acer, Windows Vista.

My computer screen has just started to put smudge like blurs after sentences (like when you've rubbed out pencil writing and it leaves a grey mark), it seemed OK til I installed a Java update or it could be the Windows update. Is it worth uninstalling and re-installing or do you think it's something else?

I doubt that a Window's up-date for your Vista would cause any problem. In fact I am using Vista at this very moment.

Do you really need Java?. I get along without it. Perhaps it is causing a problem.

I would un-install Java and see if it makes any difference. You can always re-install if required.

Give it a try and report back in this thread.

Thanks Hans, I restored it to an earlier date to see if that did anything and I haven't had a look yet, if that didn't work I'll uninstall Java.

Hans, it seems uninstalling Java worked, I can't be too sure as there was a lot of updates to do so I can't pinpoint when the screen went back to normal.
