Facebook Messaging And Location - How Accurate?

Hi all

I've discovered over the weekend that unless you disable the location box in facebook apps you're location is automatically sent to any recipients of your message.

My question is, how accurate is the gps location as I got a message from someone who said they were at X location when in fact they were somewhere completely different? It's no biggie if it's not usually accurate but likewise the nosy moo in me kind of needs to know if it's correct.

Does the location go off say your home position that has been saved in say google maps as 'home' or does it actually position you in the position you are?

TIA

Susie

Mine knows where my phone is, that the issue as far as I'm concerned, if I use my phone to post of FB (which I don't usually do, I usually post from my PC).
Its not very accurate, my brother posted yesterday whilst he was at home but his location was showing as a village 4 miles down the road.
Mine usually just says the town, not what part of it.
