Charger For Kindle

I've read a few comments to the effect that a kindle can be charged with a phone charger. Now-before I spend £13-14 on an 'official' Amazon charger,can anyone tell me if this is true.

It's a mini USB port, pasta. I'm sure the cable from my Nokia N8 will fit it.

Yes you can, I use the charger I got with my Samsung phone.

My son uses mine to charge his iphone, so yes.

@Stephen...yes,I have a USB cable...but no laptop or PC. So it needs to be charged at the mains.
I guess I will try my Samsung charger.
