Can I Keep My Mobile Number If Contract Is Due To End

My mobile contract is due to be renewed but I want to cancel it instead of renewing but I would perfer to keep my number.
Can i keep my mobile number I use now and have it on pay as you go.

I think your problem is in some ways similar to mine and yes it can be done but how easily may be down to your particular network If AB do not help try google

Yes, I've done that before. Just contact your network provider and tell them that you want to cancel your contract but want to move to PAYG with the same number. I think they will send you a new sim card if I remember correctly.
