On my Excel work sheets I can go to FILE/OPTIONS and set the settings ie Font Size and Type for all new work books. I have tried doing this for Word but cannot achieve a standard sheet for all new word documents. It appears that each document has to be compiled each time. Also the page only seen to cover the middle of the page not across the whole page. Hope you can understand the point I am trying to ask. Thanks for any ideas.

I would make up a Blank Page with the settings that you require then "Save As"; naming it Blank_Page or something.
You can change the normal.dot template so that all new docs are formatted as you prefer. What version of Word are you using? Search for "change normal.dot for Word 2007" or whatever version you have.
Go into word.
Click on New Blank Document.
At the top of your screen there should be a capital "A" underlined by a colour, look underneath it, it has a tiny box, which if you hover your mouse over it, it says "font dialogue box", click on that.
Choose your font, style and size, then click on Default (on the left hand side)
Then click on YES.
This should then make all your documents with the style you have chosen.
