Methyl just want to let you know that I fixed it up re I went to Control Panel and with trial and error went into display which led me to appearances or bytes which I moved up extremely slightly and I am back to what I was - ie full page and happy with that - however, when I scroll I am still getting the ribbony effect instead of a straight scroll - hope that makes sense.

Well have answered both of my questions myself- went into mouse and turned the notches from 1 -20 - this has stopped the ribbony effect. Thanks anyway Methyl.

yes boxtops it does indeed. but I am pleased with myself in being able to do this - wish I had more advanced training but I guess people in tech site have been to university which taught them more - I left school at 16 so it is trial and error. Hopefully the old gentleman of 90 I think you call him Jacklee gets his problem fixed - wish I could help him re him wanting to make music. Perhaps Boxtops (like I have not recently looked at his site) you could help him too. I think it is great for him to be interested computers at his age.
