Hi

Have iPad 2 running iOS 5. Keeps asking me to upgrade to iOS 6.

I have resisted so far based on reports of shorter battery life, excessive storage use, crappy maps and the fact that if it ain't broke, don't mend it!

Is this still true now that 6.1.3 is out? Could someone who has made the upgrade please let me know their experiences? Also, how much space am I going to lose on my machine if I do install 6.1.3? Is there any performance degredation?

Thanks in advance

No performance degredation whatsoever. Takes about 5 mins max.

Thanks Z, but what about my other concerns?
My beef with the upgrade was the maps business, other than that I've not noticed any difference in performance.
clarify 'crappy maps'.

Z Ihave heard that the embedded Apple Maps app included in iOS is much inferior to Google maps, but that may have been fixed in 6.1.3 ???

Other concerns is how much extra space it will take up on my machine, and also I have read reports of shorter battery life
There are many many map apps but having said that, I haven't had any issues with the Apple ones.
I updated a couple of months ago - haven't really noticed much difference. YouTube is no longer part of the OS, but you can download it as an app. Maps not really an issue, but you can always access Google maps if you prefer.
I think it will force you to update it after a while anyway.
