Can anyone recommend a dongle for my mini I pad? Want to take our mini IP on holiday with us, but we might not always be in a wi-fi location. Would be grateful for some recommendations. Have seen the "Huawei

(3 E5331 MiFi USB Dongle) on Argos, but just wanted a bit of advice.

Hope you can help, many thanks, Chox.

Both my partner and bro have bought a mobile wifi device from "3" they have never had problems with it - just to let you know both are not normal customers of "3" either x
If you're going abroad, forget it. The costs are extortionate.
If you have a smartphone it may be hotspot enabled, meaning you can use the data on your phone and connect your iPad to that wirelessly

Otherwise the Huawei is ideal.
This from apple:-

iPads do not have support for external internet dongles or modems. They lack both the "drivers" to support the dongle and the software to configure and maintain the connection.

Thanks everyone, for the information. However, a bit confused. What exactly are these external dongles for, if they can't be used for Ipads and the like?

HC - what are the costs which are extortionate?

Many thanks, Chox.
If you are abroad and using a mobile broadband dongle or data roaming on your smartphone to access the internet it is very expensive. VERY expensive.

You should only use the internet over wifi.
Laptops I suppose chokkie and maybe other tablets that support them.
I didn't know that about the iPad. My Nexus 7 tablet connects easily.
I am assuming that you don't have an ipad with a data sim slot? If you have a data sim, you don't need a dongle and if you haven't got a data sim slot then a dongle won't work either.
But the Mifi will work - no difference from connecting to wifi. The OP is asking about the Mifi
