Hi

I have just replaced the battery in my laptop after my old one died. The new 1 is a Li-ion battery

Do I need to fully charge it or not in order to get the most out of it? I have read to recommendations on the Internet from 2 experts and they both give conflicting advice - 1 says you should, the other says you shouldn't & I'm clueless!!! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

You should fully charge it. What you don't need to worry about is fully discharging it, as they don't suffer from the "memory effect" problems of earlier battery technologies.
Fully charge it AND fully discharge it 2 or 3 times to start with.
