Toshiba DVD recordable problem

I've just brought a Toshiba  RD-XS32 with which you should be able to record onto the hard drive or to disk (and transfer from hard drive to disc too) I can record from the TV to the hard drive and play back and delete when I've finished looking at it. I can also play a pre recorded DVD and it works fine.   What I cannot seem to do is record on to a rewritable disc, even the one that came with the macine doesn't seem to want to play the game!  I have read the instructions till I'm sick to death with it all and tried both the remote and by manual buttons to get the thing to work with a disc but it just doesn't seem to want to know.

Could some one give me some different ideas ( simple ones please!) to allow me to record to disc.

The manual is really not in any sort of format which makes it easy to follow even though it's (allegedly) in English, and unfortunately it's no good going back to the shop I bought it from as we live in Spain and my Spanish isn't up to technical conversations.

If you cannot help does anyone have a phone number in the UK for someone either from Toshiba or anywhere else I can phone.

Thanks in advance

Paul

Are yuo using -R -RW or -RAM disks?

If it's a -RAM disk have you initialised/formatted it yet (page 28/29 of your manual I think)

Otherwise perhaps you can give us some details of what happens when you try?

I don't know anything about your recorder but have found this on the net, including pages in Spanish which are meant for S America but might be useful.

If you look around the site their are faq's as well.

Good luck.
