My music won't show up on my mp4 player

I am trying to put my music from windows media player onto my mp3 player but it's not working. I make a sync list and then "start sync" and the music transfers but it isn't showing up on my mp3 player. When I connect it to the pc after it's transfered it shows up on the pc so it must be on the mp3 player but it won' show up on the actual mp3 player itself. Any ideas????
