hard disk drive

I have a samsung R 510 laptop ,the hard disk drive is finished,end of dead.the original drive was 160 gb . if i install a 500 gb will it harm the lap top. How do I get the laptop up and running, do I just put the new hard drive in, or do i need to use the recovery disc and the software disc.

It will be fine with a 500GB, and yes you'll need to use the recovery disk to re-install windows on the new hard drive.

i have the r540 an it's hd died i just bought a new 500gb and reinstalled win 7
no problem, just go to samsungs driver support page for your drivers.
