When I send a picture (jpg) as an attachment to an email it also appears on the face of the email. Why is this please and can I stop it happening? I am using Outlook Express 6.

You could try this?
When in Internet Explorer, go to TOOLS/ Internet Options/ Advanced tab/ MultiMedia Section and remove the tick from SHOW PICTURES.

If this doesn't work then you can always replace the tick.
Don't bother with the above suggestion as I've just found out it removes the avatars from Answerbank. I'm sure it was something similar, though!

Good of you to try Wak and thank you. I've tried sending an email with pic attachment to myself, but it didn't make any difference.
Seems it's not possible unless

(a) You 'zip' and the recipient 'unzips' the pics. Or

(b) You rename the attachment, and the recipient renames it back to xxx.jpg.
