Problem with Itunes

I've downloaded a rented film, and I've got about three quarters of the way through and it has stopped, and has come up wit the message error 50 - how do I sort this out please - I don't know if I would be charged again if I uninstalled it and then re-installed it. If anyone could help I would be very grateful. TIA
